During my most recent visit to my home state of Maryland, I visited Old Town Ellicot City with a friend. We happened upon Syriana Cafe almost by chance. And where quite glad we did. Syriana takes up a multi-floor building, giving you a wide variety of seating options...whether amidst the crowd, or in a small corner. You can get a great view of the main street from one of the window seats. The food options included what you would reasonably assume to be offered at a Mediterranean restaurant. Tabouleh and tahini. Falafael. Baga ganoush. All the classics. And each of them were very good. I actually don't think there was a single dish that I didn't like. I did particularly like their hummus. Service, while friendly, can be slow. The wait staff are constantly climbing up and down stairs to get to all the diners, however, so this is understandable.

Cozy, rustic, intimate experience from my visit to Syriana's at Old Town Ellicott City. Perfect venue for a date night. First floor hosts a couple seats and the bakery; the other two floors are for seating. Not familiar with the desserts and much of the cuisine other than the wraps but everything was tasty. Plenty of spice and texture. Portion sizes were adequate as well. Two ladies running around serving the floors were quick and accommodating. No complaints about service. The draw here, personally, is the vibe. Perfect setting for a Valentines Day dinner if you want to avoid the crowd. Wooden furniture and warm tones accented by interesting fixtures. Road noise is minimal and not a worry. Maybe more of a worry in the summer when the doors are open. Recommended!

It's very nice to have a Syrian restaurant in Ellicott City! I stopped by on a rainy night for a quick meal. The restaurant is huge and very warm, with a register and some treats on the first floor- be careful or you'll buy them all! I sat upstairs and had a falafel sandwich with fries. The sandwich was a little small but very tasty, and the fries came with a delicious sauce. I had to get kunafa for dessert! It wasn't like other kunafa I've had but it was warm and sweet. This is a great place to stop by and try some Syrian food!

If you're looking for a cozy rustic place for Syrian food, this place is it. We went here on Valentine's Day so it was busy but we got our food in about 20 minutes & everything was great! We enjoyed our drinks & appetizers. Grape leaves had a nice tart taste. As for the falafel platter, it was filling. A little different from falafel I've had before, not as crispy & on the blander side. I liked the desserts though! I couldn't remember what they were called but all & all not too sweet but good!
